A quick glimpse at my recent activity will show you that I don’t normally post a lot of original content.
It’s not that I don’t have anything to say, but that I think too much about how others will respond.
So, I played it safe by simply liking or sharing business/career articles from sites like Forbes.
When LinkedIn rolled out its video feature, I noticed real people telling stories through short videos and text.
My feed got interesting after I started following and engaging with Allen Gannett’s video series.
I started discovering and engaging with other content creators including David Chase, who decided to ask #30RealQuestions after a layoff, and Robbie Abed, who created #BecauseoOfLinkedIn video campaign just in time for Thanksgiving.
Yesterday, I dared myself to post a question that’s been on my mind for a few days.
And then spent the rest of the day obsessing over vanity metrics as my post/profile views skyrocketed.
I look forward to seeing similar excitement from my 2nd post (this one) and many more to follow.
I’m also committed to creating a #BecauseOfLinkedIn video (or multiple videos), but it might have to wait until after Thanksgiving.
Lastly, thank you everyone for connecting with me and inspiring me with what you do.
